Training
MASS Precision has an extensive training program that incorporates all levels of its employees.  The program utilizes a combination of training methods including: Classroom Training, Mentoring, and Continuous Improvement Meetings.   These training techniques are directly tied into a California State Funded  program which allows the flexibility to bring in executive level training along with field experts and keep MASS Precision and its workforce up to date on cutting edge technologies and production techniques.  MASS Precision's workforce has access to online training programs and an extensive library of industry related articles and papers. MASS Precision's training philosophy is committed to preparing its workforces with the necessary education and training opportunities so it's prepared to meet and exceed all current and future business objectives.

Materials Management
Our Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) System, immediately notifies our Purchasing and Planning/Production Control Departments that your order has been entered by our Customer Service Staff. Our Purchasing Group reviews the requirements and verifies inventory prior to placing our purchase orders to our Suppliers. Production Control plans, schedules and releases jobs to meet our customer’s contract requirements. This process is done concurrently to our Engineering function of verifying shop drawings and methods used to fabricate. Purchased material is inspected, received and kitted to the Work Order and/or Purchase Order. Production Control Monitors WIP for on time delivery and will notify Customer Service of constraints that may affect due dates. Our Outside Service Staff manages material movement to and from outside vendors. This material is inspected prior to receiving the product. MASS monitors our vendor sites with periodic inspection and procedure review, insuring ISO compliance. We can also set up Just In Time (JIT) deliveries for your Project. Just let us know your requirements.

Engineering Change Orders
Changes to drawings, and other documents can originate from the Customer, Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality Assurance. Procedures are followed to insure the change is documented either related to one document (for correction) or a group of documents to implement customer-approved changes. This process is initiated either by the Customer or by MASS and is relayed through our Customer Service staff. A copy of the document is made, redlined to the desired change and delivered to Engineering for implementation, either in hard copy or soft copy. Any additional instructions are also delivered in writing. For changes to schedules, cost and other records that are not Engineering Documents, the Internal Change Process is used to improve Documentation and to keep the Customer informed.

Production Control
Good production control requires outstanding system controls. The imperatives of this market place demand responsiveness and flexibility. The very core of MASS success centers on the effectiveness of its order entry, production control and job tracking systems. Independent of our engineering department's sophisticated CAD/CAM tools, our company wide Vantage computer platform was developed for the design and contract manufacturing business, enabling us to provide real-time delivery information, inventory control and labor data collection.

Customer Service
Our Customer Service staff works closely with the Customer to insure all orders are placed in a timely manner and also insures that pricing and due date are verified and correct. All special instructions are noted on our Sales Order which is the tool used to convey these instructions to the Job Work Order to build from. Customer Service is the liaison with Operations, Production Planning, Estimating and Engineering. There communication with these Departments is coordinated and compiled to keep the Customer informed of any delays and or changes that may arise.

Program Managers
MASS has developed and extensive Program Management process to insure your vital project is handled in a professional way. The assigned Program Manager will work closely with your Company's Engineering and Materials Departments to develop and prove out the design, improve the costing structure and insure any lead time issues or risk items are identified. The PM may hold project kick off meetings with both the Customer and Operations staff to communicate the scope of the project and to document the Customers expectations. Our continuous improvement process is employed through out the entire phase of the initial design to full production runs. This process includes all tools used by the PM such as timelines, operations support, meetings, our Vantage MRP system, feedback from suppliers and prioritizing key steps. The PM is also involved with significant upside/downside shifts in volumes and or due dates, including the monitoring of JIT orders. Our PM's also stay abreast of technology by attending seminars, shows and reading trade publications.

Procedures and Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI's)
Our vast library of Procedures and Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI's) are reviewed and updated on a regular basis. This ties into our training process as noted above. MPI's are created to insure your project is built in a consistent manner on the shop floor. The Customer is involved in this process to make sure both work instructions and key inspection points are documented. These instructions will use photos, drawings and sketches, including what tools are used to perform each task. Additionally, each step indicates the time allowed to insure your project is completed on time and within budget.
